Pharmacy Residency

The Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is a 12-month experiential learning program.
This program focuses on helping the resident develop five core skills, primarily in the oncology setting:

  1. Core clinical skills in patient care
  2. Interprofessional collaboration
  3. Leadership
  4. Teaching
  5. Project management

The residency program includes both non-clinical and clinical rotations such as drug distribution/IV admixture, drug information, pharmacokinetics, evidence-based medicine, practice management, medication safety, internal medicine, acute oncology care, ambulatory oncology care, pain and symptom management, and direct patient care rotations in common tumour sites. The resident will also act as the principal investigator in a longitudinal residency research project. 

Although the majority of rotations will be held in the Lower Mainland, the resident will be required to travel to other BC Cancer centres. A travel stipend will be provided.
