BC Cancer – Prince George (Centre for the North) provides a comprehensive cancer control program in partnership with Northern Health.

Community oncology network sites, operated by Northern Health, are located in Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Haida Gwaii, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Quesnel, Smithers, Terrace and Vanderhoof.

BC Cancer – Prince George is situated on the traditional and unceded territory of the Lheidli T'enneh First Nation.

BC Cancer - Prince George serves all of Central and North British Columbia from west to east.

BC Cancer - George is a leader in Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR), high-precision cancer therapy research.

BC Cancer - Prince George is home to a CT Simulator, Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerators, brachytherapy and dosimetry.

What We Bring

Work with BC Cancer – Prince George and have access to leading-edge technology and research in specialty treatments and services including:

Pilot project participation in Early Symptom Indicators for Cancer Care (EPICC) provides repeat symptom screening to better manage patients’ quality of life during cancer care.

Treat approximately 50 patients a year with Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR) or Fractionated Stereotactic Radiotherapy (FSRT). This was made possible by our active participation in world class clinical trials.

Newest BC Cancer centre with a state-of-the-art facility showcasing LEED Gold certified design, reflecting local cultural values and purpose-built spaces for Indigenous ceremonies (including a circular spiritual care room).

Leveraging 3D printing technology to create patient specific bolus to optimize patient treatment.

Prince George is located close to the centre of British Columbia and is an hour-long flight away from Vancouver and Victoria, or to Edmonton and Calgary in the neighbouring province of Alberta. Considered the “Gateway to Northern B.C.,” Prince George is the closest major urban centre for smaller northern towns and remote towns.
