BC Cancer Breast Screening is making screening mammography appointment booking more convenient and accessible by launching an online booking tool for those being recalled for their routine screening. Designed with the security and privacy of patient information in mind, the tool enables users to select an appointment location and time that is convenient for them at BC Cancer Breast Screening’s screening centres throughout the province. It also provides available appointment times for the mobile mammography vehicles that provide screening services to rural and remote communities.
“Screening mammograms are the most effective when done on a regular, routine basis,“ said Janette Sam, operations director for BC Cancer Breast Screening. “By offering an online booking tool, BC Cancer Breast Screening is empowering breast screening participants to take an active role in protecting their own breast health.”
A unique booking code is included in all Breast Screening reminder letters that provides participants access to the online booking tool. Those booking their first screening mammography appointment, or who prefer to booking by telephone, can call 1-800-663-9203 or clinics directly to book their appointment.
