About administrative careers

Join BC Cancer, a provincial cancer program known worldwide for high-quality patient care and research. An administrative career with BC Cancer gives you the chance to work in a health care setting, where you interact with patients, families and the health care professionals who provide care and treatment.

Our administrative team members – such as medical secretaries, unit clerks and receptionists – play an important role on their health care teams. They build medical knowledge and job skills while supporting cancer care by managing schedules, supplies and orders, and by communicating with patients and families in a respectful and caring way.

We support learning and professional growth. Team members can take part in ongoing training and professional development courses through the Learning Hub.

Unit clerk careers

BC Cancer is hiring unit clerks across British Columbia. You can build your career while supporting patients through their cancer journey at one of our six regional cancer centres: Prince George, Kelowna, Abbotsford, Surrey, Victoria and Vancouver.

Unit clerks play an important role on the care team. They support patient admissions and referrals, manage medical records, process provider orders, and work closely with the clinical teams, doctors and community partners. Their work helps ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care.
