Preventing Cancer

BC Cancer aims to lower the cancer risk of British Columbians by partnering with health authorities and other stakeholders from around the province to build public awareness and encourage actions that support healthier living.

Sun Safe BC

Sun Safe BC is a provincial coalition run by BC Cancer. We focus on keeping people safe from the harmful effects of the sun. Together we advocate for government policy change and share sun safety messages with the public.

SunSense

We proudly support SunSense, a national sun safety program developed by the Canadian Cancer Society.

The goal of SunSense is to reduce the number of people diagnosed with skin cancer in Canada. Through education and awareness, the program supports Canadian schools in creating sun safe environments for staff and students.

This work compliment's BC Cancer's Screening Programs supporting early detection efforts, allowing for more effective treatment and better outcomes.
