Tumour-Specific Pathways

BC Cancer has created tumour specific clinical care pathways.  These pathways have been approved by the respective BC Cancer tumour group and broader community interest groups over a 3 month consultation phase.

Tumour-specific pathways align with the framework established by the Overarching Clinical Care Pathway and are designed to support all health care professionals within BC Cancer, the Health Authorities, community health care teams and patients.

These pathways will
  • guide best practice within BC Cancer to ensure high quality care is provided equitably to all patients across the province
  • support decision making and communication within health care teams
  • guide the development and reporting of clinically relevant benchmarks and key performance indicators and guide healthcare providers and patients in understanding the cancer trajectory for tumour-specific cancer care.
