Anatomic Pathology is the study of surgical specimens to diagnose disease. It may be used to identify various types of cancer and medical conditions, as well as certain infections.
Hours of Operation: 6:30 am – 4:30pm, Mondays to Fridays (except statutory holidays)
The Anatomical Pathology laboratory at BC Cancer Vancouver Centre is primarily a referral lab and specializes in performing immunohistochemistry stains for the purpose of cancer diagnosis. The immunohistochemistry panel is the largest in the province and is restricted to pathologist community.
Please note that outpatient surgical specimens are not accepted at BC Cancer Anatomic Pathology without prior agreement and that no reports are issued for stains ordered through the Immunohistochemistry Requisition. Physicians are encouraged to contact their local hospital labs for more information on sending specimens.

Hereditary Cancer Program genetic counsellors.
